How long are therapy sessions?
Standard therapy sessions are 50 minutes long. Initial consultations may take up to 60 minutes to allow time for assessment and treatment planning.
What should I expect in my first session?
Your first session is an opportunity to share your story, discuss your concerns, and establish goals for therapy. Your therapist will ask questions to better understand your situation and together you will create a treatment plan.
Is therapy confidential?
Yes, therapy is confidential. Information shared in sessions is protected by law (HIPAA) and professional ethics. There are limited exceptions such as risk of harm to self or others, or court orders. Your therapist will explain confidentiality limits during your first session.
